Our neighbor who left (not ‘fled’, actually) Russia, and now an American citizen, did the other day turn down the rye bread we offered but gladly took the lemons:

A reason she ‘fled’
tired of that dour Russian
hard to chew rye bread
Wants no repercussion

when offered her in US blest!
Now prefers soft bread & folk
in newfound goods-laden quest
she’s virtue-signalling woke

Jokes she while slicing lemons yellow
“Don’t they come in other color?”
adds, in demeanor no less mellow:
“Sure you couldn’t find any smaller?”

If smart enough to be an Ace Consumer
would we not all float around in good humor?
