Fall’s last leaves quiver
on last stands most steadfast
in chilled winds shiver
determined to outlast
The last leaves on the branch
to Summer past hanging true
A rousing rear guard stance
or just blind loyalty’s glue?
When losing their gallant grip
last ones to abandon ship!
