In the daily juggle
between truth and ruse
where’s the strength to struggle
with what seems abstruse?

Figuring out what Life asks is tough
so easier just to look for stuff!

Horrid hearts beat unmanly
what we touch we deplete
Humans clamor inanely
each other we browbeat

Nature in overdue evolution
lashes back in rightful retribution

As humans act abhorrent
our misrule Earth contests
so with fierce fire & torrent
She cranks up her protests:

No longer upstaged!
With storms She howls
Ire flairs enraged
from Her bowels

Humans have turned Planet’s deadly disease
We’re getting shook off like, from a dog, fleas

Their ignorance seems foregone
unwittingly adverse
Declaring them a moron
might just make it all worse

Though they aren’t sipping the chalice
of willful and cruel malice

Who thinks those who howl at moons
truly deserve contempt?
Why berate screen-glued maroons
who of insight exempt

but were one of them to feel concern
sufficient then to cause a heartburn?

Does our watching those celebs
so wealthy & carefree
clear our drudgery’s cobwebs
thin out boredom’s debris?

Seen how, say, grocery clerks
carry on like show hosts
setting off verbal fireworks
with check-out line ripostes?

Do talk shows model us folks?
Or do talk shows inform
manipulate, joke & coax
us in how to perform?

Keeping up the banter in ubiquity
in a tiresome culture of obliquity

Am a wreck in howling storm:
My old knees bit stiff to fold
poor heart runs chilled & warm
wrinkly hands too cold to hold

With ears worn thin and wary eye
I observe Life’s mystery:
Us humans (although we deny)
do hatch our own misery!

In a next life lets apply prudence
as well as ‘uncommon sense’ shrewdness

Us Humans are a fickle lot
at least the ones this poor Earth got

On our Life’s fleeting one-way flight
fluctuates the scenery
between our chilly mind’s parched blight
and our warm heart’s greenery

With this forlorn Human Race I’m done
Tell, how do I join a steadfast one?

These days rarely get together
talking (while coffees gets cold)
with erstwhile friends of fair weather
to go over ‘the same old’

But ain’t their fallibility
that owns the culpability:

Palpably tired of listening
to my pontificating psyche
those low downs in discourse piddling
interspersed with harsh harangues spiky

So having heard myself for seven decades:
Enough already of such tiresome charades!

Hur kan man inte se rött
folk vet ju inte hut?

Men att mot oförrätt rasa
är gemenligen hopplöst
för vi bidrar till dess fasa
hur än tarvligt å hjärtlöst

För det som vi i andra finner odrägligt
känns i oss själva helt å hållet uthärdligt
