Crotchety with age
through his final years swished
no kindly calm sage
by now from life’s road ditched

As faculties betray
turned to manners rancorous
ever quicker astray
ending up cantankerous

Should have paid more attention
than stayed stuck in pretension

En gamling vacklar minst på sin bakgård
bortom vilken tappar han strax sin tråd

När unga konversera
styra, ställa m.m.

klarar de sej lätt förutan hans råd

The Media’s mega food
has become platitude
megaphoned & ballyhooed
grants itself latitude

The instant they’re uttered
all communing get shuttered

I’m prisoner of bodily pain
in solitary emotional cell
in vain I rattle my rusty chain
Shall I be freed prior to my death knell?

If I’m ever freed from today’s decrepitude
let each pain-free moment be one of gratitude

Blev opåtänkt nedslagen
av genomträngande smärta
Känner mej tungt lamslagen
med hopp blott rullande ärta

Tog för givet välbefinnande
fastän trodde mej förslagen
Förstod blott i eftersinnande
att jag lät mej bli bedragen
